Name the evening, the time to arrive, and send a Purim invitation before the costumes come out.

Purim retells the story of Esther, often with the megillah read aloud. It is a joyful night of costumes, hamantaschen, and gifts of food.

How to invite people for Purim

A great way to invite people for Purim is a short, lively note with the date and when to arrive. Say if you are gathering for the megillah, a hamantaschen table, a costume party, or a meal.

Send it about two weeks ahead. If children are the heart of the party, say that, so families can plan what to wear.

When should I send a Purim invitation?

About two weeks before the party. Earlier if people are coming from another city.

What should I tell guests about the night?

Whether you are reading the megillah, eating together, or dressing up. The time and the address do the rest.
