When should I send a Christmas invitation?
Three to four weeks before the gathering. Sooner if guests are traveling for the holiday.
Christmas
Add the day, the hour, and what kind of Christmas gathering it is, then send the note.
Christmas gathers people for the birth of Jesus, whether the day is a church service, a family meal, or both. Homes fill with a long table, visitors, and the foods of that household.

A great way to invite people for Christmas is a short note that says what the day actually is: a family dinner, church and then a meal, carols, or an open house. Include the date, the time to arrive, and the address.
Send it three to four weeks ahead, earlier when people travel. If children, a gift exchange, or a dish to bring would change someone's answer, put that in the same note.
